I liked the matzo balls my grandmother used to make... they were large, with a fluffy outside that would float if you stripped it off, but a dense core that was *cold*. Unless you cut them open and let them warm up.
I suspect this was more of a 'pull matzo balls out of the freezer' thing than a 'secret family recipe' thing, but it was still a neat soup experience.
