I have for the first time done what is colloquially known as "throwing my back out". [profile] bard_bloom is taking the boy to preschool while I wait for the ibuprofen to kick in. Mopey and wishing I had some other muscle relaxants here, and ow.

I guess maybe the warranty ran out at 40. I feel too young for this.

Ow.

I hope whatever caused it was at least fun!

I used to do it quite a lot in my late 20s- probably due to spending all day in a chair and not getting any exercise. Hang in there and try to relax.

Not much fun -- opening a drawer. The funny thing is, I've been doing gentle stretches on Wii Fit, in theory my back should be marginally better than it was before.

my lower back started giving me grief when i was about 45, so i can empathize. :(

most often, my lower back pain is caused by pesky muscles in the front (like the psoas muscle). the biggest relief comes from stretching exercises and seeing my chiro. i would have never figured out that i needed to do some kind of exercise to release the pain, so thought i'd share that tidbit.

whatever its source, may your pain go away quickly!

I've developed a bit of a floating patella due to ligament damage related to my diabetes. The physical therapist showed me how to "tape" it so as to reduce the problem. (Luckily I don't have to do that all the time.) At one point I'm taping my knee and I turn to bookwurm and ask "When did I get to the point that I have to tape my bodyparts back on?"

I think my warranty ran out just before my 25th birthday, actually.

Been there, done that. Not fun. Rest up and hopefully the inflammation will go down soon.

I think I was 26 the first time I threw my back out. I knew one girl who had it happen (repeatedly!) in high school. O_o

I don't think that's what I did recently, but my back's sure been annoying me. Hope you feel better soon!

Sorry about your back. I've thrown mine out a number of times. I hope yours gets better quickly! Rest and relax and take lots of ibuprofen.
