First draft on the beegirl costume. It still needs a little something more black on the upper body, I think -- perhaps a low-slung leather collar or a black velvet scarf. But I'm overall pleased with it.

This is definitely an outfit that requires an assistant. I of course need to be laced into the corset. Although I actually have the eyes mounted on a pair of glasses behind the mask, the holes in the eyes are tiny and only allow limited tunnel vision, plus they tend to fog up after a bit. Also, the boots have 4" heels, which means I may want a bit of help navigating stairs and the like. (If anyone wants to volunteer to accompany me for a while one night at Midwest FurFest, you will be richly rewarded.)

I'm aiming for disturbing, yet sexy. What do you think?

I agree with Gryllus on this one; the head is what's lacking most. If you've noticed, a lot of furry art is animal heads on otherwise human bodies.

You should have bigger, compound eyes. Heck, if the head looks like

...I'd be really happy. (You may need to shift the eyes forward so that you can see out of them.)

I'd also agree with those who want stripes. Yellow and black stripes. Mrrrrr.

Finally... since we can't see the other side, I assume that you have a stinger?

Rather than shifting the eyes forward, you could shift the feelers out a little ways, and conceal your vision slits in them somehow.

Actually the eyes are compound, though you can't really tell in the picture. They are made of yellow base with black dots in Fimo clay. I tried a larger, bulkier set, but they really messed with the relative delicacy I was looking for in the shape. I may keep working at that, though.
