If I handed you a pack of markers or colored pencils and said, "Draw me a bird, any bird, either a real one or one you just invented on the spot," and you had at least a few hours to do it (and reference if you liked), what sort of thing might you hand me back when you'd finished?

I'd likely be really really intimidated. But if I could convince myself to do it, it would be something bold and impressionistic or modern, not even trying for realism and all. It would probably be a phoenix.

A bold, modern phoenix. I like that. You just said a lot about your own strong qualities, I think... but I'll leave the big interpretive lifting to the professionals. ;)
