Ask me a whole lot of trivial questions. The more trivial, the better!

(Note, trivial, not trivia. I have a very poor mind for actual facts and figures.)

Is Rhys named after someone, or did you and [livejournal.com profile] bardbloom just like the name?

Rhys is named after my father, but it's his middle name, Lawrence, that makes that honor. We chose the name Rhys because it is unusual enough to not be overused in the US right now while still clearly being recognized as a traditional name, and because it appeals to Bard's interest in all things Welsh while still being pronounceable with English-language phonemes.

What is your favorite BPAL scent to date?

Depends totally on my mood. If you asked me which single one I'd want to keep if you told me I was done playing and could only hold on to one, it'd probably be either The Lion or Hetairae. But I'm totally in lust with Monster Bait:Underpants right now.

What's your favorite song from the eighties?

Do you like green eggs and ham?

I know about PS, but what other celebrity crushes have you had?

...and, of course...

What is your favorite Wonderpet?

Date: 2006-05-22 03:15 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] beetiger.livejournal.com
Songs which jump to mind are Paul Simon's "You Can Call Me Al" from the Graceland album, and Blondie's "Rapture", though that might possibly be very late seventies.

Eggs with pesto are very good. Eggs that were boiled too hard so the outsides of the yolks turned green? Not so good. Eggs with food dye in them are of course very good too. But I think I'd prefer my meat products not green.

I've never been that big on celebrity crushes, but I guess I've had some of the obvious dykey media crushes....Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman. Lucy Lawless as Xena, you know...[personal profile] lediva and I kind of have a mutual crush on Diana Krall.

I almost peed my pants over some of the lines that Ming-Ming the duck had in the episodes I saw today.

What do you do when your kid gets catsup all over his new really cute shirt?

What are your favorite socks?

What's your favorite shape of pasta?

Take it off right after lunch and wash it in the sink, I suppose. I'm not that attached to individual items of clothing for him ,ad he doesn't much care yet.

Right now I'm digging my green stripey socks. When I wear them with a short black dress, girls seem to notice it.

I like cavatelli. Sometimes I call them caterpillartelli. Tortellini are good too, but that's really more different than just a shape.

What is your name? (feel free to be creative with this one!)

What is your quest? (do you sense a theme?)

What is the color of the implement of destruction writing that Rhys has gotten into and/or made messes with and/or ran out of ink/graphite/whatever is inside it and made it not work anymore?

What is the most annoying situation where you had the wrong color cat fur on your clothing? The most incongruous? (sorry, staring at my cat right now and taking too cute cat pictures with the digicam before he wakes up and recovers his dignity.)

What item do you always pull out when you want to declutter, say, "I should get rid of this?" and then put back where you pulled it from to keep 'just a little longer'?

Envelopes: lick, or use a damp sponge?

What single small thing that takes very little time and can be done on the run when you notice "oh, that's the full moon and I so don't have time to do anything real, she'll understand" do you think is worth doing? (i.e. driving down the road at 70 going somewhere and running late, and you notice taht the moon rising is full...)

I'll stop free associating now :)

I wouldn't give you my True Name, even if I'd managed to figure it out yet. You can call me Al.

My quest...honstly is to fnd my Quest. Kind of meta, I guess.

Rhys has messed up a few washable markers, but that's about it. Our devastating losses have mostly been shampoo, handmade sopas, and lip balm.

As far as the cat fur goes...my Julia-cat left a lot of hair around here right after she had the whole pile of it dyed pink. I forget where I found some recently, but seeing as she had it dyed over a year ago, it was kind of disturbing. As far as real cat hair goes -- Omaha has occassionally sat on white merchandise of mine, which has required a lot of cleaning to make it saleable again. Once she puked on some of it too. :P

I have a variety of pieces of clothing that I should get rid of because I will *never* wear them again, but they are nostalgic for me and I think I'll wear them or want them somehow. Swaetshirts from shows I did in college, and one from a trip to France I took in high school.

Lick, unless I'm doing a large number at once.

Kiss my fingers to the moon, Jewish-style. Not with the Jewsih prayer, but that motion.

What color is your favorite set of dice/single die?

Date: 2006-05-23 03:33 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] beetiger.livejournal.com
I don't get attached to dice, really. I just use the big pile I have from the last time I indulged in Chessex overstock. I do have an orange die mounted as a ring that I got as "geek bling" in a recent Sampler that I've gotten very fond of, but it's not useable for gaming.

I'm a big fan of Fraggle Rock, and I've recently been introduced to the magnificent Wonder Pets.

I love the number six. Sometimes when I have illusions of grandeur I imagine that I am in charge of the number six. (Really!)

I've never seen one do it, that's all I know about it.

why bee?
why tiger?

Date: 2006-05-23 03:38 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] beetiger.livejournal.com
Well, that's a detailed question, not a trivial one. But "beetiger" is after my most personal furry character, a tiger named Bumblebee who's also kind of a dryad/beehive.

If I handed you a pack of markers or colored pencils and said, "Draw me a bird, any bird, either a real one or one you just invented on the spot," and you had at least a few hours to do it (and reference if you liked), what sort of thing might you hand me back when you'd finished?

I'd likely be really really intimidated. But if I could convince myself to do it, it would be something bold and impressionistic or modern, not even trying for realism and all. It would probably be a phoenix.

A bold, modern phoenix. I like that. You just said a lot about your own strong qualities, I think... but I'll leave the big interpretive lifting to the professionals. ;)

When you get dressed, in what order do you put on your clothing?

Date: 2006-05-23 03:42 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] beetiger.livejournal.com
Glasses and watch, then socks ,then underwear and bra, then usually pants or skirt, then a top of some sort, then any other jewelry. Lately, perfume after that. Shoes only when I'm ready to go out. Sometimes I hang around half-dressed for a while.
