Since I'm actually open-scheduled these days, I want to take Rhys to ring in the May by taking him to see dawntime Morris dancers. Anyone know who dances where in the NY/CT area these days?
*laughs* Dancing in the May is a country tradition, though that's in England, and in the US the tradition has mostly migrated to big cities and college towns.
On May 1st, Morris dancers "wake up the Earth" with set dances, with ankle bells and clashing of sticks. I used to dance the Morris, but these days I just watch.
