I have very few lifelong obsessions. Paul Simon is one of them. I missed seeing the ill-fated Capeman while it was on Broadway, but I am not missing this.

Anyone want to make a commitment to babysit a child that hasn't been born yet for an evening? Anyone want to join me in reliving my lost youth?

I'll join you! Can you be in San Jose sometime in mid-November? :) (Or Seattle, I suppose, unlikely as that is...)

I have to admit that this is fairly cool, although I'm sorry (if accepting) to see them looking back instead of forward. Paul Simon has done some remarkable things since (I actually *liked* the Capeman soundtrack quite a bit, although I can't speak to the live show) and as wonderful as some of the old material is, it's almost frustrating to hear him squandering himself doing the same things. (Contrast this with Bob Dylan, say, who seems to reinvent his songs every time he plays them.)
Still, he has done a lot of solo material that should suit them well -- I'd love to hear them both on "Hearts and Bones" or even "Trailways Bus".

And it could be much worse, after all. I hear that one of the sticking points was Art's demand that they include at least as much material from his solo career as Simon's... :)
