George Pal, director of "Destination Moon," "The Seven Faces of Dr. Lao," and the 1953 version of "War of the Worlds" was good friends with animator Walter Lantz, and hid Woody Woodpecker somewhere in every one of his films as a private joke.
They might have gone and changed it on me. ;) My reference is William Poundstone's book series Big(/-ger/-gest) Secrets, which is really engagingly written and full of fun things You're Not Cleared For. :)
I'll have to mumble if I ever try to sneak in with rings and regalia bought off ebay or something. That, and do a mighty good job with the drag and all.
