Cycles of life

One of the funny things about using this medium, writing down tiny little things that strike you, is that some memories that certainly would have faded over time end up sticking around.

Just about a year ago, I remember writing about the color of the daylilies on the side of the road, and how they matched the construction cones. I saw daylilies again this morning, near my office. Today, they match the German orange soda I'm documenting at work. They also match my morning's snack, "Kasugai Roasted Mixed Nuts", a Japanese treat made of peanuts and peas in crunchy salty festive coatings, cheerfully billed as "A HAPPY PRESENT FROM THE EARTH" on the packaging. They're protein, good for me in the morning, but I probably should not have eaten the whole package.

I can't wait to show Mothra the daylilies, this time next year. I'll have to find some that aren't on the side of the road.

You remind me that I should go to Yoshinoya and gorge myself on wasabi peas. Well, I guess "should" isn't quite the right word.

"Have you ever tried wasabi peas, they're really good" was what I was originally going to comment. Heh.

Yes, wasabi peas are good too. These are sweeter, and a variety mix, but sold basically the same way.

Cheap off-brands trying to be Fanta and Orangina, mostly. But yeah.
