I rarely post quizzes in my journal, but [personal profile] haikujaguar’s Jokka are very cool, especially for those of us fascinated with alien cultures and with nonstandard gender.

Take the Jokku Gender Test!

I’m finding the Jokka strangely relevant right now, as I’m going through the physical and emotional experience of having a baby, feeling pure emotion and sensitivity and a role that’s very biological. I wonder, as perhaps an anadi might, if whether in the process of changing roles so radically I may lose some of the people I care about most, and perhaps lose my mind for good. This picture made me cry, this morning.

[livejournal.com profile] sythyry’s gone and gotten us air conditioning, though, so with any luck I won’t overheat.

No, it's okay. To me, that piece just told a profoundly sad story, one of an anadi whose children had grown and moved on, who was left remembering them by playing with their toys, and who was entirely unclear on how much time had passed, and had forgotten that her babies weren't coming back home. It's a good piece. I'd love to see you finish this.

This really belongs in your art log, not here, but oh well. :)
