Dress to confuse?

beetigerThe bright red shirt just jumped out of my closet at me this morning. It's got long sleeves, but isn't too heavy, perfect for this weather.
The blue cotton skirt? Elastic around the waist, since I'm not ready for maternity clothes yet but most of my slacks have gotten a bit tight for comfort.
I didn't even notice that I put white stockings on this morning. I'm not really a morning person.
So when my coworker cheerfully chimed out at me, "You're looking All-American today!", I was rather surprised. Embarrased even. It's a popular sentiment, and no one around here's going to give me trouble for it, but it really wasn't the message I was intending to broadcast today.
