I'm sitting at my desk this evening, catching up on this month's bills. Like most of you, I'd guess, many many organizations send me address labels as "gifts" in advance thanks for a donation I'm supposedly going to give them, so I don't really buy address labels any more. The random sheet pulled out from the stack today was from Bide-A-Wee.
I'm finding myself looking at the labels and putting ones with pictures of cute cats on them on the bills from companies with which I'm moderately happy (my insurance company), and ugly dogs on the ones from companies with which I'm currently displeased (Cablevision/Optimum Online).
Sometimes, I wonder if the other political actions I occasionally try to do are any more effective than this.

Date: 2003-04-08 11:00 pm (UTC)I definitely wonder the same thing and come ever close to deciding that the appropriate way to live one's life is simply to move someplace where the dominant ideology and system of government is similar enough to my ideals that I'm not terribly bothered by the differences. Sadly, I don't speak Swedish and am deeply terrible at learning languages :) OTOH, Canada looks better every day.
