Penny-pinching, expense account style
Mar. 11th, 2003 01:05 pmI've always thought that the Zipcar was a nifty concept. You can get a car occasionally, when you need it, without dealing with the rest of the hassles of ownership.
So I guess that it makes a lot of sense, if you are the kind of person who enjoys flying zir own private plane, but don't want to deal with the trouble and expense of owning your own Cessna, that you might be interested in Our Plane.
Of course, the Zipcar folks call themselves a community, while Our Plane features "fractional ownership".
These folks randomly had flyers on the display table at my branch bank. Me, I just deposit a weekly paycheck there, but perhaps they've got more substantially-asseted clients. From the text of the flyer:
SAVE MONEY! ...now you can own a brand new aircraft and still have money leftover for a cottage, your children's education, or vacations ---never sacrifice again just because you want to own an airplane!
For now, though, I think I'm sticking with Jet Blue.
