If God loved me more, would I photograph better?

When we were in Redbank, New Jersey for First Night/New Year's Eve, a cheerful gentleman asked to snap our picture, and then handed us a card telling us to go look for it at his website. His church used to meet at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio, but they seem to have moved up to the Marriott. Perky, low-pressure biblical literalists. I have to admit their tactic worked, as I did indeed go to their webpage and read it, when I came across his card in my camera case.

Unfortunately, God has not graced the new church of red bank with a very good scanner. But if you'd like to see a picture in which (right to left)[livejournal.com profile] sythyry, [livejournal.com profile] lediva, I, and my mother, four of the people I love most in this world, look respectively drugged, washed out, slightly insane, and much more bored than usual, go here.

Not too bad a picture.

Hey, at least they aren't doing an aerial flyby of your boat, then looking your address up via the registration number, and sending an offer to sell you the picture they took during the flyby for $100 a shot.

Man, I hate that sort of deal... In Seattle, my social life was non-existent offline during the week, and the big daydream would be that someone would notice me scribbling away in coffeeshops, think I was neat, and I'd make a friend. Every few months someone would notice me scribbling away, and I'd get someone trying to convince me to join their church. Sort of the real world equivalent of feeling good for getting 40 emails, and then finding out that 20 of them are for penis and breast enlargement. No, I've never gotten over the fact that when I get lots of email most of it is spam, either.

That said, it's pretty cool knowing what you guys look like IRL.
