A flea and a fly in a flue

I’m planning on going to the Fetish Flea in Boston this weekend. It combines two of my favorite things – costuming and browsing-shopping, with a whole bunch of people I like hanging out with, in one location. It's also another chance to strut out the bee costume. But it’s got a silly name.

When I first heard of it, I thought people were saying “Fetish Flee”, which made me think of running away and escaping to it, an image I kind of liked. Or I thought they were saying something like “Fetish Fleadh”, since that’s a popular way to name Irish festivals these days, and I imagined brawny men with adult diapers under their kilts and tall redhaired women singing ballads in extreme corsets or something.

It’s actually Flea as in Fleamarket, i.e. a vendor-oriented festival. Still, I can’t get the image of a tiny insect domme, somehow managing to top humans many many times her size, out of my head.

I looks rather like a large SF convention with mostly shopping. Even with Circlet Press and C. Tan.

Hmmm...

.. and tall redhaired women singing ballads in extreme corsets ...

Now this gives me some entertaining images.

(For context, you must know that one of my spice happens to have hair like copper wire, a very Irish sort of complexion, and has a figure that's perfect for corsetry...)

*smirks* I do in fact have a special fondness for tall redheads in corsets. You are a lucky man.
