The front door of my beehive, mid-afternoon. The bees that look like they have little orange saddlebags are carrying pollen into the hive.

Woot! If they're going about their normal business, that implies that the queen is still around, no?

Not necessarily. Foragers would still forage if the hive were making a new queen. If in 2-3 weeks it looks like my population is tanking (ie no new eggs were being laid), that's when I might know from the outside. I think. I'm still really new at this.
