Only vaguely on topic... I've noticed lately that there seems to be something deeply, inherently sinful and anti-Christian about the entire notion that human beings are animals.
Not that it particularly bothers me that I have one more reason to disagree with Christian religious dogma.
Yeah, the whole "dominion over the beasts of the earth" thing. One of these days, I'll go ahead and do a rant on that. I'd pit my cat's soul up against your average American's for quality, any day.
I've run into that site before and think it is quite fascinating. I like his Judgment series a bit better, but consider all his images to be beautiful and if sufficiently advanced body-altering tech existed might be inclined to use some as templates for a revised body.
Agree with your assessment of the art as both beautiful and disturbing.
I've seen some of this artist's work before; the cat girls especially get to me. Something about the eyes and facial distortions.
I've also seen an image of a dog-woman that has stayed in my psyche for a long time now. I am not sure if it is by this artist or another working with similar themes and media. Figure on hands and knees, multibreasted, swirls of hair or fur patterning all over the body--unnearving mix of human and canine. I actually wrote a short story for the Transformation Story Archives inspired by this particular picture; a rather dark short about abuse, women's body issues and transformation.
I don't mean this in a derogatory way, the pictures remind me of people whose appearances have been altered by unusual genetic conditions. I can't think of anything offhand, but change a chromosome and end up with a whole series of differences. Won't that be the day if/when they figure out how to splice more animal traits to human or vice versa?
