I just made a new batch of zukoh (body incense) to put in pretty little metal tins for Harvest Home Gathering next weekend. I tested it out on my palms and now my hands smell awesome.
It's a Buddhist tradition. It's basically a mix of powdered herbs, spices, and woods that you rub on your hands for personal purification, as well as for actual disinfecting to a modest degree. In modern times it also works as personal scent, usually rubbed between the palms or applied at pulse points. I use a mix of the traditional ingredients and things that smell good: aromatic woods, brown spices, and camphor.
I found some beautiful inlayed tins for it, and I'm adding it to the Mother's Hearth line.
