When I stayed at my inlaws at Christmas last year, the first night I was there, I woke up with a horrible wheezingful shortness of breath. Sheets were changed, down comforters that don't really get washed were removed, and in a few hours everything weas fine and I was breathing okay.

Last night we stayed there again, in a different room. This morning I woke up short of breath again. Not enough to go to a doctor or anything, but uncomfortable and scary and kind of maybe I think like what some of you with asthma might experience. A whole day, and going home, and some hot showers later, and it really hasn't gone away. I'm distressed and uncomfotable and still kind of scared.

Took 2 benadryl. Seems to have done squat.

Would it make sense to make something like a sleep sack to take with you then, so you're not inhhaling whatever allergens are there?

And yes, antihistamine at least.

I think at Thanksgiving I'm gonna sleep in the car or something. Or maybe that's just my mood talking. :P

Seriously, I had no concept this would be a repeat event.

I understand that. I didn't mean to sound like I was putting you down for not being prepared or something. but now that it *is* a repeat event, I would take responsibility for it not happening again -- bring anti-allergy meds along, bring my own pillow, etc. Not sure if I"d go so far as to bring my own sheets -- would depend on if that would offend the relatives in question.
