Unintentionally good planning

I just realized this evening, as it was getting dark, that I'd misremembered the dates for the Yom Kippur holiday, and that it runs from this sundown (Sunday) until next sundown (Monday). As keeping this fast is one of the residual rituals I retain from my Jewish upbringing, as a matter of discipline if nothing else, I am glad that this afternoon I had a late-ish lunch consisting in part of mofungo, a Cuban concoction of mashed plaintains mixed with butter, pork rinds, and garlic sauce. This food item can easily sit in your stomach for 25 hours, although I suppose it does break Jewish dietary laws in at least two or three ways.

I love how you observe a jewish holiday after eating pork. That's just great. *giggles*

And yes, mofongo can survive in the system for months. *lol* But it's soo good.
