Looking for new connections

If you would be so kind...

Introduce me to someone on LiveJournal who isn't on my friends list, but whom you think I should get to know better, or whom you are surprised that I haven't already connected with.

Just letting me know a journal name would be fine. Letting me know *why* we'd be interested in getting to know each other, even better. And dropping over to their journal and letting them know I'm coming? Well, that would be the best.

On the flip side? If you added me a while ago and are finding me to be less interesting than you thought I might be, this would be a good time to go ahead and drop me off of your list, no offense, no questions asked. Thanks!

[livejournal.com profile] vozeatscake doesn't post nearly enough, but you two could be sisters: artists and moms with adorable, precocious wee ones!

Hey, that's the Fishcakes lady! Coolio.

Pal [livejournal.com profile] janejellyroll is a former coworker of mine. She's got that whole hippie thing down. :) She supervises a team at my old workplace. She's sort of the Dharma to my Greg.

[livejournal.com profile] eisa and [livejournal.com profile] nex0s Both lead interesting lives, both live in the City and so might be fun people to visit or meet up with. I’m pretty sure you met [livejournal.com profile] eisa once, when we went to a restaurant a few blocks from her place.

[livejournal.com profile] rain_luong, creator of Ozy and Millie, is pretty cool and I think the two of you are on the same wavelength on a lot of things.

[livejournal.com profile] soopageek has one of the most interesting journals I've ever read. He's a trucker and takes pictures of all kinds of pretty/neat/wonderful things he sees on the road...and has excellent taste in music. And his girlfriend [livejournal.com profile] welfy is one of the cutest things ever. :)

And if you want a fun community, [livejournal.com profile] howtheylooknow is awesome.

I don't know how to do the little user icon thing... but moonshadowtiger is my sister. She's into Rocky Horror, World of Warcraft, and generally ragging on how bad her day was, or how stupid boys are... which I don't blame her at times. :D

So, umm... there you are!

[livejournal.com profile] melanie You both post fragrance critiques, ;) (she makes soap), you both have home-based businesses, and you're both really cool. How's that? :)

No one really springs to mind. Usually, I can't predict how two pwople will get along. And in the rare cases where I get a clue, I connect them as fast as I can.

But I love lots of my friends list, so a couple of interesting people might be hmm mamallama is an artist, uppity/stubborn/fights for her self-identity, mother, art teacher, and wife. She lets a lot everyone's innate humanity show in her journal, and not just the angsty bits. HilaryPoet is also a lovely read. She's excellent clergy and I love her poetry. Her husband reminds me a lot of some of how I imagine Bard might be.

[livejournal.com profile] shanmonster: Dancer, crafter, martial artist, poi-spinner
[livejournal.com profile] lupabitch: Pagan writer in the Pacific NW
[livejournal.com profile] shadesong: Prolific writer in Atlanta (soon Boston), plus she's cute naked (and not naked, too, for that matter!)

[identity profile] ladyperegrine.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[livejournal.com profile] lupabitch sounds interesting--do you think she'd mind if I friended her too?

[identity profile] featheredfrog.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I couldn't say, although she writes her blog for others to read. Good stuff.

[identity profile] beetiger.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. I read [personal profile] shadesong for a while, but the internet celebrity/actual interesting posting/ likelihood of getting to know me as anymore that a fan, despite us having some mutual friends ratio was waaaay off.

[livejournal.com profile] wapsi - Hmm...she's queer, liberal, open-minded, compassionate, and just generally a neat person.

[livejournal.com profile] willowing. She's an incredible nature photographer, and sometimes I swear she is literally an angel fallen out of heaven.

One person I've learned a lot from is [livejournal.com profile] ozarque. She's another writer, with an interest in linguistics. (She's a former professor of linguistics.)

If you remember the "Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense" books in the 1980's, she was the author.

Hi. You recently posted in one of my friend's journals and I thought I recognized you from another friend's posts. Checking your profile, I found that your friends list overlaps with 3 different circles of my friends.

So given the nature of this post, I thought I might ask to friend you. :)

Coolness! :)
