Safe haven

We had the most amazing storm here last night. Thunder shaking the house, lightning so bright the flashes lit up the windows through the shades, rain taptaptapping in torrents on the roof. Waves of light and sound, over and over, for what seemed like a very long time. It woke me up, though I didn't leave the bedroom. It felt very authentic, very alive, very real. The power went out. I didn't feel worried or scared at all. In fact, I pulled Bard close to me, and grinned, and I felt safer than I had felt in weeks. We've had drought conditions here lately, too, so I hope it helped.

I had to tease sythyry about predicting it, though.
