What's your spirituality, how'd you develop it, is it still evolving, and if so how?

The short form description I use is that I'm a Unitarian Universalist Pagan of Jewish Heritage.

I tend to be a panentheist -- that is to say, that the spark of the Divine is in everyone and everything, but is more than the sum of its parts. I work with a variety of gods, mostly of the Greek and Celtic pantheons, but I mostly see them as a manifestation of a Duality which is a manifestation of a Unity. So I'm really not a true polytheist.

I was brought up ethnically Jewish. I thought Hebrew was some sort of magic words to talk to G-d with, like a spell. I also talked to the trees when I was young, as far back as I could remember.

I believe in a spirituality more of ecstasy than of rules, although I definitely believe in discipline to get to those perfect places. I believe that ultimately, life is based in love, and joy, and the change that always moves us toward something new.

Really, I'm as religious as I am spiritual; I like playing with the ideas than we humans have had about how it all works as much as I like the experience of worship and connectedness and magic. I don't quite believe that all paths lead to the same place, but I definitely believe that different approaches will give you different lenses on what may be the essence of truth.

Of course my spirituality is evolving -- every time I meet someone with a different take on the world, or experience something new that affects my worldview. The latest ones have of course to do with my son. I'm learning things about the fragility of life, and the robustness of it, and the ways that people can be connected. I'm also craving more spiritual community, both for support and to give my growing child some context on which to build.
