Genericon report
Jan. 21st, 2004 09:53 amSome good things:
-Playing Giant Dr. Lucky, and never getting any weapons cards, so being forced to try to kill
aprivatefox with a pointy stick,
lediva, cuteness, kindness, a dirty diaper, hair dye, and the Pachelbel canon. Eventually I killed him by just going away. (Really, my having to quit the game allowed some more non-sight lines and the game ended promptly.)
-Seeing
lediva.
-Getting a free room and the majority of my meals paid for by the con.
-Scoring a comp copy of Stoner Fluxx.
-Putting Rhys in the black cat fursuit with the mousifier. (even if only in the hotel 'cause it was too small.
-Being on panel with Tau from RPI and the Gazebo of Games folk.
-Watching Rhys enjoy the brightly colored cosplay outfits, and a girl with striped hair.
Some not-so-good things:
-Cold weather.Very inconvenient for carting babies around.
-Baby deciding that watching people was more interesting than eating, but complaining that he was hungry.
-Gaming rooms in totally middle-of-nowhere location.
-Baby not into loud dark rooms showing anime, or generally into stopping anywhere.
-Eating a giant slim jim and vitamin C fortified candy for one of my non-con sponsored dinners.
-Obnoxious "must sell first novel" author not taking teasing from me, beeping Rhys' nose while he was sleeping and waking him up, thus making us leave dinner early, then trying to take over Worldbuiling panel from audience while being boring.
-Rhys and I collecting major concrud colds, so that days later we are both still miserable.

Date: 2004-01-21 10:15 am (UTC)Please keep me posted about upcoming (preferably cheap, nearby) Furry Cons. I want to check out my competition in the Wing & Tail business.
Must-sell-first-novel individual?
Date: 2004-01-21 10:17 am (UTC)Any chance on getting a name for this person? I've heard of similar incidents (minus the waking-the-baby part) involving someone in specific, and I'm curious to see if this is the same person. I don't need a real name (if it's the same guy, I already know it) but a badge name would be nice.
That is, if you don't mind. I don't want to put you on the spot, but if it's the same person I'm thinking of, any concrete examples of "why this person should not be running panels" is a good thing.
