My morning so far

Gained +1 level in baby stroller manipulation, but still have the "klutz" flaw, managing to get tomato sauce on my clothes and not notice until transferring it to the baby's clothes.

Spotted outside the craft store: an art car covered in glued-on buttons and "bumper stickers" that were actually painted on. And me without either my camera or any Monster Women! My favorite sticker-quip: "Boycott shampoo. Demand real poo."

Stroller Manipulation is an important skill, but frequently only something one can improve in at this time of year. Most of the time there's not enough resistance to pit your improvement against. (gah. not sure that makes sense. bad brain.)

It was the "in and out of hte trunk" part of the job I've been working on. Can do that all year, though I hope it'll feel natural by spring.

Do you have one of those cool strollers that's just a modular attachment for the car seat? The kind that I have no special reason to believe actually exists, but would be cool if it did? And if it existed, would it have a meatplow on the front for running down Christmas shoppers?

I have one of the "convertibles"; right now, I snap the carseat into the top, but it's got a regular seat too for when he is bigger. I had one of the minimalist modular things too, but bard_bloom ran into it with its car (after, granted, I let it roll to a place that it would reasonably drive its car).

No meatplow, though. If you buy me that attachment for $WINTERHOLIDAY, I'll attach it, though!

I just thought -- do you have one of those massive strollers, what I call 'cadillac strollers'? the ones that would be difficult to fit into a semi truck? (ok, not maybe, but it sure seems like it?) in that case, that sure does count for getting in and out of the trunk.

We had one that converted (like a Transformer!) from a carseat to a stroller to a carriage-y thing -- the back dropped down and the handle flipped to the other side. It also was rated as being good for airline seating for the kids. It was magnificent until it got eaten in a carfire.

After that, we actually found that picking up a smaller stroller -- not an umbrella stroller, but a real one that was still not a gynormous one -- was VERY useful; yard sales are your friend. It took up less space, was easier to manage, and doubled as a stealth shopping cart: drop the back down but have the kid still sit 'upright' by resting their back on the bags in the back of the cart. Even when the kids were older and walking in preference, we used it. (like, i think this is the second year we haven't.) I wish I had thought to bring it with me today. :)

No, but I have a Toyota Prius, the four-door car with the smallest trunk in the world.

These are Monster Women. Bard got me a tub of them as a gift some number of Yules ago, and I took to leaving them with surrealistic notes under the windshield wipers of people whose bumper stickers/car styling I liked, as a sort of kind act of randomness.

Ask en_ki about meatplows. I assume it's like a regular plow, but for meat or annoying CHristmas shoppers instead of vegetables. Mmm meat.

Followed the link to the monster women suppliers... OMG. I don't know when or why I'll buy stuff there, but rest assured, I shall at some point in the indefinite future. Perhaps there's something lurking there for my Evil Twin...

I like it a lot, although granted I liked it better 1) in the summer when the mileage was better (*very* temperature sensitive) and 2)before I had to lug baby stuff around. But I'd definitely recommend it.

probably not a good buy for Indiana then if it's temperature sensitive. I like the idea of hybrids, I just wish they made one in my size; the ones I've seen seem terrible miniscule.
