Sometime in mid-July, I shipped a bunch of bottles to a meeting in the UK. The meeting went fine, the project proceeds, all is well.

But apparently, 2 of the bottles were broken. The shipper, noticing this, repacked the rest and sent them along. They were duplicates, so no one particularly noticed or told me.The technician/shipping guru for my group just got a package damage claim form for this package, and insists that I fill it out and mail it back to the shipper.

Now, I insured these samples for a token amount of US $0.50 each. This means that I can claim a total of $1.00. Less the stamp and envelope, of course. And they probably won't accept the form, as it's been more than 30 days since the shipment was accepted. Also, it will cost them more than a dollar to pay me for the time it takes to fill out the form. (Which, yes, I know, I'm currently wasting writing an LJ entry. Hush.)

Even *I* have enough of a brain left to realize this makes no sense.
