I'm home from work today, having had another appointment to get Mothra's picture taken, and then to give blood. Then I went grocery shopping. Maybe it's just that people like to talk to pregnant women, or maybe I looked in need of interaction but:

-several stocking clerks said hello to me, and one cheerfully told me not to worry that I'd knocked some stuff over.

-a man in the seafood department noticed my appearance enough to smile and say: "I think you gave too much blood today. Your fingers are turning blue." (I used the morning part of my hookey day to paint my nails electric blue. Pregnancy has been good to them, and they are long.) I'm pretty sure he was flirting. This never ever happens to me in grocery stores.

-a woman on line chatted with me about secret methods to figure out which line will move faster. She talked to me first.

-The checker asked me if I'd "found everything okay". I have been shopping in this store for years. No one has ever asked that.

It was pleasant, if bizarre.

Well, A&P now has that "found everything OK" line as part of the checker script. They've been doing it a few months, I think. I guess I've been doing most of the shopping ... out of consideration for your pregnancy.

The other stuff is real though!

I see Mothra's power to cloud the minds of mere humans is coming on-line. This might be a good time to try for a promotion or renegotiate your mortgage. :>

When I was pregant with Little P, I was actually hooted at in that "woo hoo" sort of way by teen aged boys! I was shocked considering I was 28 at the time. It is a weird thing indeed. Pregnancy does it for sure, but it also has to do with some internal "feeling good" vibe you send out too. Put them together and "Pow, Zam!" You have instant socialization. :)

Ya, lots of people have been asking me if I've found things okay recently, so that shouldn't be considered abnormal.

I wonder if maybe it's the time of day you are shopping. The folks who shop in the middle of the day during the week are maybe more laid back than the on the way home from work crowd?

When I look more 'normal' for the area, I get more attention. Normal varies wildly. Mebbe being a glowing, slightly-pregnant pregnant lady with enough time to keep blue nails was charmingly approachable in a way you usually aren't?

Did I forget to tell you that your aura (very warm, and fire-bright) was about four inches larger at my party than it was at TBC? Silly me!

This sort of thing is going to keep increasing, and it will be absolutely ridiculous when Mothra's popped out. You'll be stopped every five feet to display her to some other admirer, just like I am when I take Moonshadow out in public.

While I was pegnant was the only time I was able to grow and keep my fingernails long (I'm usually a bad-habit biter, for for whatever reason didn't then). But I'd advise trimming hem before you go into labor--I actually drew blood squeezing my lamaze parner's hand!
