I'm going to Boston tomorrow night to attend Harvard graduation. Part of me wants to take the train from near my office, but part of me just wants to drive, but keep my car the hell away from Harvard proper.

Anyone have a driveway not too far from a T-stop that could hold a cute little Prius from Tuesday night until Friday midday? Or more likely, anyone have suggestions for parking not too close to Harvard, but near the T, that is likely to have safe available overnight parking at a not-too-ridiculous rate? ($15 a day or less, perhaps?)

depending on when of course

I have a driveway, and if you would like, I can drive you to the T which isn't far from me. There are a gazillion buses that run just down the street from my house, but since I am in Malden and I am guessing that isn't your home area, it might be simpler for me to drive you to the stop. I do not have any covering for your cute car though, so if that is a problem it will be bad.

Hmm. If by "safe" you don't mean "legal," there's always our place. :) You'd be playing about the same game as Harvard, though -- zero parking fee in exchange for a non-zero chance of a ticket. I think the tickets are <$10, but I've never gotten one so I'm not sure... And as you might recall, we're absurdly close to a T-stop. :)

Do you know if they tow, or do they just ticket? Parking over at your place might work fine...

Is someone going to mess with it if you park it at Harvard?

They've never, ever towed from the street to the best of my knowledge. It's a residential street and usually the cars are packed tight enough that they'd have a tough time wiggling a tow truck in. :) If worse comes to worse, there's a private road just around the corner that Tuxedo used to park on -- it's pretty much a No Man's Land. We could knock on a couple doors and see if we could get their permission to park you there overnight.

Perhaps I'll try my luck there, then, if you're willing. Will you be home tonight, and should I stop by when I get in, sometime between seven and midnight? :)

I would rather not deal with the football stadium mob scene thing they've got arranged for visitors this weekend, if I can avoid it. And illegal parking on campus this week is definitely not going to work.
