Swords into Plowshares

Today I took [livejournal.com profile] projectmothra to a Tae Kwon Do class for preschoolers. He had a great time jumping and kicking, and near the end of the class, the teacher had him break a small pinewood board by kicking it. He was thrilled to do it, and even more thrilled when the teacher handed him the pieces to keep.

As we were leaving, he asked me what we could do with the broken wood. I told him he could keep it in his room to remind him how loud and strong he could be when he focused. He looked up at me, hopeful, and said, "Well, can I paint it in pretty colors and glue pompoms on it and we could use it for a little table?"

That's our family values for you. ;)

p.s. I've been posting this sort of stuff over at the [livejournal.com profile] projectmothra journal and not here, but the kaiju has actually been posting there himself now (about once a week, a few sentences per post, you can go over there and friend it if you like, he loves comments), so I think I'm going to start making my posts *about* him over here instead. Thus, a poll.

[Poll #1126993]

agreeable! kids always amuse me! they're very inspiring, having such wide imaginations!

bytheby, how open are you to little kits of crafty stuffs for your little one? i had a habbit of giving lots o stuffs to friend's kids, and since moving far far away, i'm nowhere near children of a reasonable age to give kits to, so would you're like some? (beads, clay, coloring pages, little things like that)

I'm considering telling Elizabeth that, if she wants to write more, I can get her an LJ account so she can write on the computer like Mommy and Daddy.

If you do go with the filter, put me on it.

I don't care if it's a filter or if you keep posting it normally, I just want to be able to read the stories. :) Also, I have to agree with the others, his posts in his journal are really great. I've been considering opening a Live Journal account for Scout as well, in part because of those posts. :)

Ooh! Thanks for mentioning here that that journal was getting used again; I took it off my regularly read filter after he was born when it got quiet for a while.

And his posts are adorable!

I don’t care whether you make a filter or not, but if you do, I’d like to be on it.

Oh, and just by the way, you’re wonderful.

Everything's better with pompoms on it!

No filters! Page down is everyone's friend.
