We got up yeterday morning and went with [personal profile] projectmothra's cousins, age 10 and 13, to play mini-golf, at a course in Dedham obviously built by actual golfers. No crazy obstacles, just rocks and hilly terrain, with brown carpet "sand traps" and blue carpet "water traps", and a few tunnels. It was cool out, and quiet, and I enjoyed it. After that, I asked the kids what we should do next, and they all inexplicably agreed that the right follow up to mini-golf was bowling. We went to Needham Bowl to discover it closed, so we ended up at Pho Pasteur and ate noodles. After that, I used my GPS to find another place which had "Bowl" in the name nearby and clamed to be open in the afternoon when you called them. I informed the cousins that this was how I had an adventure.

We ended up at Ron's Gourmet Ice Cream in Hyde Park, which had candlepin bowling, which meant that [personal profile] projectmothra could handle the ball without help and therefore found it more satisfying than regular bowling. And the ice cream was excellent -- obviously handmade. I had Creamsicle ice cream that had obviously been made by adding orange juice to vanilla ice cream -- it was off white and not bright orange, and tasted juicy/creamy. Rhys got banana ice cream, which was made with extract, not bananas, but was still pretty good (and not bright yellow).

After some relaxing, we managed to pull together dinner at Asmara, with what turned out to be a group of people not quite as unfamiliar with each other as I had thought. (Everyone knows [profile] r_ness.) :) Thanks to [personal profile] kajarainbow, [personal profile] bedfull_o_books, [personal profile] porcelaingirl, [profile] r_ness, [personal profile] lediva, [personal profile] beowabbit, and [personal profile] adrian_turtle for a wonderful time. I really enjoyed catching up with you and/or meeting you in person.

Seasonal allergies are kicking my butt, but otherwise I'm really cheerful. More socializing (and more mini-golf} on board for today, so I'm happy.
