Our local Toyota dealership actually has a previously owned (2001) Prius on the lot, at a price I think I can manage. It's pseudo high-tech and boxy in a happy-technology kind of way for which the aesthetic kind of appeals. They're also willing to pretend my dead car is almost worth something. I'm going to sleep on this overnight, but I think I'll probably be closing this chapter this way.
