Insects in lingerie. )First draft on the beegirl costume. It still needs a little something more black on the upper body, I think -- perhaps a low-slung leather collar or a black velvet scarf. But I'm overall pleased with it.

This is definitely an outfit that requires an assistant. I of course need to be laced into the corset. Although I actually have the eyes mounted on a pair of glasses behind the mask, the holes in the eyes are tiny and only allow limited tunnel vision, plus they tend to fog up after a bit. Also, the boots have 4" heels, which means I may want a bit of help navigating stairs and the like. (If anyone wants to volunteer to accompany me for a while one night at Midwest FurFest, you will be richly rewarded.)

I'm aiming for disturbing, yet sexy. What do you think?

As part of my job search, particularly as part of outplacement services. I'm doing a lot of diagnostic personality testing. Myers-Briggs, Strong Employment Inventory, eCareer personal Style Inventory, I-speak, Career Anchor Values Analysis. I actually really enjoy doing these, and find them a good distraction from the mundanity of reorganizing my resume and networking with people who don't really want to hear from me.

There's a certain sort of vanity in taking personality tests. But the tests all rely on the assumption that you basically know yourself, and that you just need that information chopped up by whatever methodology the test uses to find out something useful. Is that a fair assumption? I'm not sure. I know I'm often less than totally honest with myself, occasionally finding myself unhappy in the midst of doing something I've always told myself I enjoy, or being surprised by what is really totally typical behavior. I'm not fooling anyone else, though.

There's a poll-your-friends quiz floating around here that feeds right into this stream, so of course I'm finding it interesting, this self-reflective week. Not all of the questions, of course. Asking you when we met is just silly -- my memory's not *that* bad. And I really am not quite brave enough to risk your honesty if I were to ask "What do you REALLY think of me?" But there are two questions from the quiz I'll invite you to answer, if you choose.

1)Describe me using three or less words.

2)Have you ever dreamt of me? If so, tell me about it.

Incidentally, if you stare at my Strong Inventory results the right way, it looks as if I want to teach therapeutic cooking. Perhaps I should find out how [personal profile] khromat's classes are going.
