One thing I've found is that I like getting someone else to smell them on me - they sometimes make good arguments for stuff I'm so-so about (in either direction, but I've had a couple "No, really, that's stunning on you, you want to keep it around for the right occaision." hits on stuff that I wasn't sold on immediately.
