Makes me want to spit, that does. Correct me if I'm wrong, but one can be gay and in the Israeli army, yes? But one cannot be a gamer and be considered a normal human being in the Israeli army.

As one of my friends said in a recent post, there's always a closet.

I've had similar discussions with my in-laws. They're nice people with a few biases, most of which came to them via the conservative Christian media. I don't think they believe us to be unbalanced, but they probably do think we're opening ourselves up to evil or some such.

It's crazy and discriminatory.

Yeesh!

I didn't know it was so popular over there. I think "detached from reality" is code for "more likely to think for themselves and not follow bad orders."

I think that's about the most assinine thing I've ever read. Talk about thinking with your sphincter. In what kind of logic does that make any sort of sense?

As if we didn't have enough retarded discriminatory practices.

This is highly ironic, especially since people who train in the Society for Creative Anachronisms are typically more competent when they enlist than raw recruits. I know of one story in which a man continually took down his command officer during training, baffling everyone until someone asked him with his SCA rank was.

Hmm... lessee... long term gamers commonly have the trait of being independant thinkers; regularly problem solve in game; use different thinking techniques to solve riddles, traps, and plots...

Yeah, non-conformist thinking and a military mind rarely do go together...

hahaha

hahahahaha,
detached?
mosta the people ive known who play d&d or other various games are more intouch with reality and able to handle major decisions in life, where as people who've never had to make important decisions before stumble and have a bit mroe trouble being decisive.
