Crayola washable crayons are non-toxic, right? Even the black ones?

Yay, crayons!

So did you feed him edible body paint, instead?

I always loved the smell of magic markers when I was a kid; maybe you should introduce him to those!

PS -- You're awesome, just so you know.

Are they Crayola Kid's First Washable markers? If so, they should be fine. Here's a link: http://www.epinions.com/content_17529802372

If not, I still wouldn't worry. Ellie used to eat chalk and sand (she'd find ways to sneak it, even after we tried to keep her from it) and she's fine. I think she actually had a form of pica. But you could always call either the manufacturer or your pediatrician.

(But first, take a picture! bwahhahhah!! ;-) )

*hugs*

I remember eating chalk as a kid. It had this really cool texture of which I still get vivid tactile memories when I see schoolroom chalk. Sand, that I don't get at all (possibly because I have vivid tactile memories of sand that are FAR less pleasant). But chalk, oh, yeah.

I believe they make all crayons non-toxic for exactly that reason, although it is not going to be fun for either of you when they come out the other end.

You are totally right, I really should put a lock on that drawer in the bedroom...:)

ps Thanks for the random ego boost. I really needed it.

Luckily, I think I got all the pieces out of his mouth. But he had pretty much colored his whole face. In five seconds while I was at my computer. Damn you LiveJournl! :)

Heehee! Yes, they're non-toxic but not that tasty. Even worse is perfume, which smells really lovely but doesn't taste anything like it smells, alas, and might not be non-toxic either.

Yes, apparently I was a scientifically-experimentally-minded toddler, much to my mother's dismay. ;)
