I've got to admire
tikvah
I first met
tikvah via the Transcending Boundaries con a few years back. We chatted a lot about trying to make cons more friendly to those with special needs, whether they be dietary, mobility related, or family related. She's passionate about these issues, and I lerned a lot from her whn we sat down together. We seem to be one degree of separation in a bunch of ways; we've got several groups of mutual friends we almost never hang out with at the sme time, and she always shows up very high on my matches at places like OKCupid. We've both got some logistical issues, so we haven't managed to get together, but at some point I'll bite the bullet, and we will, and it will be really worthwhile. She's funny and articulate. She's not afraid to ask for help when she needs it, but she usually doesn't come off as whiny or needy, just common-sensical about it. And I need to spend more time qith queer liberal Jews -- even though I'm mostly practicing outside my religion of birth, it's important and interesting for me to know what fringey people who are working within that system are doing.
A cool person, doing good out there in the world. That's
tikvah.
