You can tell the whole story, or leave cliff hangers so that next time friends get together they "just have to ask: how *did* you get yourself out of the shark tank? and how did you get home now that your evening gown was completely translucent?" This is a great way to tell that wonderful story about someone who would be too modest to blow their own horn.
Extra points for good stories that either I don't know about that person, or that I haven't heard for so long, reading them is like returning to an old favorite bed-time story.
Then, of course, post this to your journal and learn more fun stories about your friends.
